The supplied hose adapter is equipped with 2 shut-off valves which can be adjusted separately. The flow rate is set by means of these valves. The adapter is released and safely locked by means of a large lever. The hose and filter can be connected safely and easily.

This Eheim 2222 filter is a wonder, very quiet, reliable, easy to handle, and easy to use. The instruction manual is not friendly, I hate it. However with some intuition I can start to use the filter with no problems. I love my Eheim 2222.
